Disturbing Practices of Malal
Cults
My fellow Inquisitors,
I have recently been studying the cults springing up in the worship
of the god Malal. These cults, while not worshipping the standard
Imperial Cult, appear to be harmless to the Imperium and, indeed,
helpful at times. They claim that their god is the sworn enemy of
Chaos, that is all entities created of or worshipping the gods
Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch and Nurgle. This appears to be true; in
the few instances warp entities created by Malal have been
witnessed, they have been working to destroy the schemes and
followers of the four major Chaos powers.
These cults are very useful to all members of the Inquisition, being
ready to tackle Chaos in an instant. But this is not what I am
wanting to discuss with this report.
I have begun noticing within the past few months a pattern of
double-worship within the cults. While they revere Malal as a god,
they also worship an ancient race they refer to as the Old Ones. It
is the belief of many cult members that this ancient race created
their god, shaping him from their thoughts and giving form to him so
that he may battle the forces of Chaos. The validity of these claims
are uncertain at this point, but it is definitely something worth
looking into. I'm sure I need not remind you all where else we have
heard the term "Old Ones" recently.
I shall investigate this further, and suggest that others do as
well.
