Magos Malkar,
I appreciate your transferal of custody to me of the items replicated during your
experiments using the Necrontyr artifacts. However, it would have saved a certain amount
of recent trouble had you notified me beforehand what those items were. I must say, it is
not wise to have a decapitated head placed on the desk of an Inquisitor without first
informing him.
More to the point at hand, I have been studying these 'items' and tracking down records
from recently assaulted worlds in order to discern the identity of the individual(s) that
they had originally belonged to. It took me many days of searching through databases and
tracking down the required information, but finally I have been able to make some
progress.
DNA samples taken from the human parts, coupled with an analysis of the materials used
within the vehicular armour and the dust found on it indicate that all concerned 'samples'
were taken from an assault on the world Learto. After cross-referencing the DNA with the
Laertan Imperial Guardsmen database, I learned that the human flesh was taken from three
separate victims.
The first victim is the unfortunate soul whose head and chest were mutilated. He is
known as Gareth Lexington. Lexington was a newly recruited soldier, barely into the
service at the age of 19 years. He was said to be an individual whose future was bright
and filled with the promise for promotions.
The second victim, whom had lost his arm socket, was Richard Irvin. Irvin was the
meltagun operator for a squad stationed in the Laertan III. He was cited for bravery twice
for running into the midst of an enemy formation and unleashing the fury of his meltagun.
The last victim was Theodore Kirby. Kirby was a Guardsman assigned to Lieutenant Howard
Yeagar's command squad. He was apparently assigned to aid the medical corpsman assigned to
the squad. He had earned a Laertan Star for bravely retrieving Lt. Yaegar from the thick
of an Ork assault.
I have made arrangements for the body parts to be catalogued and studies, then returned
to Laerto by my personal courier. I hope they will be used to make at least some mutilated
corpses whole once more.
The vehicle was a matter that required me to study several uninteresting reports by
Magos Technologis, as well as sitting through many boring lectures on the subject of
modern armour composition. I have learned that these samples belonged to a Sentinel.
I am departing right now to Laerto to question some of the survivors from the Necron
raid. I will inform you if more information becomes known. Please continue to send me
information from your own reports.
